In the Platin and Nauzin quarters of town you'll find youself surrounded by sumptuous villas called 'fantasies' and the slightly more modest 'chalets' built by rich holiday makers at the turn of the 20th century - the period known in french lore as the 'Belle Epoque'.

Here they came looking for the pure air and sea breezes. The quarter was called 'Bureau les Bains' until 1908.
